Register now for the Virtual Solo & Ensemble Competition 2022!

Registration for the Virtual Solo & Ensemble Competition 2022 is still open. So be quick if you want to participate in this unique online event! Because after the success of 2021, this year again an online Championships has been chosen where you as a soloist or ensemble can put on a great performance for literally the whole world and where you get expert feedback and a score in return. The competition is open to Color Guard, percussion, winds and a combination of these.

The CGN Virtual Solo & Ensemble Competition 2022 is open to any group from anywhere in the world. It will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022, and you will need to submit your video no later than May 8, 2022. Registration is open for Color Guard, Percussion, Brass/Winds, or any combination. For the ensemble competition, there is no maximum number of performers and no limitations regarding the size of the competition area, which can be indoor or outdoor. So you can even submit part of your indoor or outdoor program.

Classes:

Color Guard

  • Kids Class: A group participating in the Kids Class must be composed of members who have not yet reached the age of eleven by April 1 of the relevant season year.
  • Cadet Class: A group participating in the Cadet Class must be composed of members who have not yet reached the age of fourteen by April 1 of the relevant season year.
  • Junior Class: A group participating in the Junior Class must be composed of members who have not yet reached the age of seventeen by 1 April of the relevant season year.
  • Open Class: All ages

Percussion & Winds

  • Junior Class: A group participating in the Junior Class must be composed of members who have not yet reached the age of seventeen by 1 April of the relevant season year.
  • Open Class: All ages

Performance time:

  • Individual min. 1 minute - max 1,5 minute
  • Ensemble min. 1.5 minutes - max. 2.5 minutes
  • E-Talent.

Color Guard

  • Color Guard Individual
  • Color Guard Ensemble (min 2 persons)
  • Guard E-Talent

Percussion

  • Percussion Individual non melodic
  • Percussion Individual Keyboard
  • Percussion Ensemble (min. 2 persons)
  • Drum Challenge/Battle (2 performances of max 2.5 minutes each) - only if at least 2 units participate. Performance area: 12x12 m.
  • Music E-Talent

If at least 3 people register for the same instrument, it will be marked as a separate class (e.g. Snare Individual, Multitoms Individual).

Brass/Winds

  • Brass Individual
  • Winds Individual
  • Brass/Winds Ensemble (min. 2 persons)
  • Music E-Talent

If at least 3 people register for the same instrument, it will be characterized as a separate class (e.g. Trumpet Individual, Trombone Individual).

Registration fee:

  • Soloist € 10,00
  • Duo € 17,50 (part ensemble competition)
  • Ensemble € 25,00 (no maximum number)
  • E-Talent € 25,00 (no maximum quantity)
  • Drum Challenge € 25,00 (no maximum quantity)

Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie

CGN staat bekend om haar pioniersmentaliteit zowel op artistiek gebied maar ook op het gebied van ondersteuning aan de activiteit. Al vanaf het begin investeert CGN in zoveel digitalisering van haar ondersteuning en haar processen. In de periode 2021-2024 heeft CGN een ambitieus investeringsplan opgesteld waarbij er verder wordt geïnvesteerd in o.a. een platform voor online educatie en competitie, aanschaf van 20 nieuwe generatie tablets ter verdere professionalisering van de juryteams, aanschaf van een aantal laptops, vervanging van het reeds 10 jaar oude intranet en de aanschaf van software voor de bedrijfsvoering en organisatie van evenementen. Deze professionaliseringsslag zou zonder de bijdrage van het Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie onmogelijk zijn.

VSB Fonds

Het VSB Fonds ondersteunt CGN met haar pijler Educatie. Via feedback, workshops, clinics zowel fysiek als online content bereikt CGN honderden individuele leden en instructeurs. Hiermee brengt CGN de activiteit in haar geheel op een hoger niveau, jaar in jaar uit. Specifiek in 2021 heeft het VSB Fonds een financiële bijdrage geleverd waardoor de fysieke en online sessie mede mogelijk gemaakt werd in 2021 en 2022.
