- CGN impressed by the go-getters
It is great to see that the CGN Online Competition 2021 is attracting so many beautiful groups from all over the world. But of course there are also the Dutch and European participants. Many of these groups do everything they can to participate.
In Europe we still have to deal with severe limitations and yet there are groups who look for ways through all kinds of weather to give their members a goal to keep rehearsing. At home, outside on a field or in a parking lot.
We speak to the groups regularly and hear about the obstacles they face. However, we see many groups dealing creatively with the limitations and they still manage to rehearse safely. With the latest relaxations, there is also a little more possible and we see that immediately with the registrations. Groups like The Pride, Passie, HiP, Trinity, Euphonia, Dynamix, Sky and Jong Pasveer and a number of others. They indicate that of course they come up with a show that is different than usual and at the moment sometimes even less finished than they would like. But they do participate, even if only with part of their program.

A number of them also encourage their members to participate in the Individuals & Ensemble competitions in order to improve themselves. The 2021 season is different from other seasons in that respect. You may want to continue in the same way, but that is simply not possible. "So you better think in possibilities instead of obstacles," we often hear these groups say.
We as CGN naturally respect the decisions of every association whether or not to look for solutions, but we to give a shout-out to all the groups making the most out of this bad situation. They deserve our support and a big compliment for their dedication and perseverance. The result this season is secondary to working together on our wonderful hobby.
The traditional words of our speaker Richard Kreisel, which he says every contest before reading out the points, will have more value than ever in 2021: "Apart from the scores, they all deserve your warm applause, because they are all great!"
